RIP desk phones – our relationship with you was in the final throes before the pandemic but with home working and hot-desking becoming the norm people are increasingly hanging up on landlines.

The one thing which may create a bit of nostalgia for the moribund landline is its reliability. Unlike their mobile successors, landlines don’t require any running around the building to get connected – but the choice doesn’t have to be tethered and reliable or mobile and flakey.
